For website owners

PinchwiseBot is the importer behind Pinchwise. It visits a page only when a person pastes that page's link into Pinchwise to scale the recipe on it. It never crawls, follows links or visits pages on its own.
What it reads, and what it doesn't
- It reads the structured recipe data your page publishes for search engines (schema.org Recipe): title, ingredients, steps, yield and author.
- It doesn't download photos, stories, comments or ads, and it doesn't run your page's scripts. Personal asides in the steps are left out; readers are pointed to your page for your full notes.
- It never gets around paywalls or logins.
- It doesn't store your page or the recipe. The recipe goes only to the person who asked for it, with a link back to your page.
How it identifies itself
Requests come from Cloudflare's network with this user agent:
PinchwiseBot/0.1 (+https://pinchwise.com/bot)
How to opt out
Add these lines to your site's robots.txt file and PinchwiseBot will stop importing from your site:
User-agent: PinchwiseBot Disallow: /
You can also email hello@pinchwise.com and we'll add your site to our block list.
People can still copy and paste recipes from your pages themselves, as they could into any notes app.
