Accessibility

Last updated: September 30, 2026

We want everyone to be able to use Pinchwise, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, magnification or high-contrast settings.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This also covers the requirements of EN 301 549 in Europe and similar standards elsewhere.

What we do

  • Every feature works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline.
  • Scaled amounts are marked with more than color, and changes are announced to screen readers.
  • Text and controls meet contrast requirements in both light and dark themes; buttons are at least 44 pixels.
  • Pages work when zoomed to 400% and on screens as narrow as 320 pixels.
  • We respect reduced-motion and high-contrast (forced colors) settings.
  • Nothing has a time limit, and reordering never requires dragging.
  • Automated accessibility checks run on every build, and we test with screen readers before releases.

Known limitations

  • Recipes are read automatically and some lines may be misread. Every line can be corrected in the editor, which is fully accessible.
  • Recipes imported from other websites keep their original wording, which we don't control.

Feedback

If something is hard to use, please tell us at hello@pinchwise.com. Describe what you were trying to do and the device, browser and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within five business days.

Pinchwise is in beta: some things may not work as they should yet, and your feedback decides what comes next.
